The pathway process

Five steps from goal to next action.

  1. 1

    Clarify the goal

Identify the decision, deadline, opportunity, or transition ahead.

  2. 2

    Review the starting point

Grades, test scores, experience, activities, skills, finances, interests, and available time.

  3. 3

    Build the plan

Milestones, action steps, deadlines, document lists, and support needs.

  4. 4

    Complete the work

Coaching, workshops, test preparation, writing support, research, or application review.

  5. 5

    Track decisions

Monitor deadlines, submissions, responses, and follow-up.

The family role

Support the plan without taking it over.

  • Families understand major deadlines
  • Financial considerations are explained
  • Testing plans are shared
  • The student develops increasing ownership
  • Adults stay informed on decisions that need them
  • Responsibilities are written down

For teen participants, Skhillz helps families understand the decisions ahead while the student develops increasing ownership of the plan.

Questions

Questions people actually ask.

Does Skhillz guarantee admission, scholarships, employment, or a test score?

No. Skhillz provides preparation, planning, instruction, feedback, and organizational support. Final decisions remain with colleges, scholarship organizations, testing agencies, employers, and other third parties.

When should college planning begin?

Career and interest exploration can begin in middle school. Detailed college and financial planning often becomes more active during high school. The appropriate starting point depends on the student's age and goals.

Can you complete applications or essays for the student?

Skhillz can guide, coach, review, and provide feedback. Applications and essays must accurately represent the student's own experiences, thinking, and work.

Do you help students considering trades or certifications?

Yes. College is one pathway. Services may include apprenticeships, trade programs, career credentials, military preparation, workforce entry, and entrepreneurship.

Where we are strict

First of May does not move.

It is set nationally, it is the day a place is given away, and it is the date this program exists to make sure nobody drives past.

If this is not quite it

Applying, retraining and job hunting are near neighbors with different work in them.

Pick the one that matches what you are actually doing this month. The rest will still be here.

You do not need the entire future mapped today.

You need a useful next step. Tell us the decision ahead and the timeline, and we will help you organize it.
