- Licenses and credentials, and who issues them.
- Apprenticeships, and how people really get into them.
- Time and money, both of them honestly.
- Entry requirements, including the unwritten ones.
- Whether it transfers, and what advancement looks like.
- Local, regional, remote and national demand.
- The next practical step, this month.

For every option worth taking seriously.
- What the work involves
- On an ordinary day, not on a recruitment page.
- What preparation is required
- Formal and informal, and who decides it is enough.
- How long it takes
- Realistically, including the parts that wait on other people.
- What it costs
- Tuition, tools, tests, licenses, and earnings given up.
- What must be renewed
- Credentials that lapse, hours to be logged, training that repeats.
- What entry level really looks like
- Pay, hours, conditions, and how long people stay.
- What advancement requires
- And whether the people who advanced took the same route.
- What is still unanswered
- Written down rather than glossed over, because it is usually the deciding question.

We do not guarantee admission to a program, eligibility for a credential, licensure, an apprenticeship place, employment, a wage, a promotion, or that a job will still exist when you finish preparing for it. Anybody guaranteeing those things is selling you something else.
Start with the options you are considering, even if the list is still a mess.
