About Skhillz Academy™

Education should growwith you.

A child strengthening foundational skills. A teenager preparing for what comes next. An adult returning to education. A parent trying to understand how to help. An educator ready to share what they know. Skhillz Academy connects those moments through schools, academic support, adult education, family learning, college and career pathways, professional learning, workforce solutions and educational technology.

Virtual programs serve learners nationally. In-person and hybrid services are offered by program, location, educator availability and applicable requirements.

Why Skhillz exists

Skhillz began with a pattern we could not ignore.

Again and again, the learner in front of us was being reduced to one part of the story. A report card did not show everything a parent knew about their child. A test score did not explain why a student had stopped believing they could learn. An adult returning to education carried experience that a placement test could not measure. An educator could see what was needed but did not always have the time, tools or support to build it.

Skhillz Academy began with a vision for a personalized virtual K–12 school. But the deeper we built, the clearer something became: education does not happen in isolated departments of a person's life.

What happens in school affects home. What happens at home affects learning. Academic confidence affects career decisions. Adult education affects families. Strong educators affect every learner they encounter. So the vision grew.

Today, Skhillz Academy is being built as a connected, multigenerational education ecosystem for children, teenagers, adults, families, educators, schools, organizations and community partners.

Our founder

Built from both sides of the learning conversation.

Skhillz Academy was founded by Tracy V. Allen, PhD, PMP, LSSGB, an educator, author, entrepreneur and systems builder with more than 15 years of teaching experience.

Her work has included elementary classrooms, middle school English language arts, adult basic education, GED preparation, inclusive education and homeschooling. She has worked with children learning to read, teenagers preparing for their next step, adults returning to education after years away, and families trying to understand what meaningful progress should look like. She also homeschooled her daughter through an accelerated educational path that led to graduation at age 14.

Those experiences shaped the central belief behind Skhillz: people need more than content. They need education that recognizes where they are, helps them understand where they are going, and gives them a practical way to move forward.

The vision began with one educator's experience. The work now belongs to a growing community of teachers, tutors, advisors, presenters, professionals, families and partners who share the responsibility for bringing it to life.

To equip learners of all ages with the skills, confidence, knowledge and opportunities they need to thrive in school, work, life and a rapidly changing world.

Our mission

Our vision

Nobody should have to start over every time their needs change.

We envision an educational ecosystem where children, adults, families, educators and organizations can find connected pathways for learning and growth, without having to start over every time their needs change.

Skhillz is working toward a future where personalized education, practical skills, family support, responsible technology, professional learning and workforce opportunity strengthen one another.

What we believe, and what it requires from us

Start with the learner

Programs should begin with the person's current needs, goals, strengths and circumstances, not with the product Skhillz wants to sell.

Make learning useful

Knowledge matters more when people can apply it. Our programs connect instruction to decisions, practice, work, communication and everyday life.

Tell the truth about progress

We distinguish attendance from completion, satisfaction from implementation, and improvement from guarantees. We say what was measured and what was not.

Keep people safe

Anyone working with children must satisfy the screening, training, supervision and safeguarding requirements connected to their role, location and assigned responsibilities.

Build the connections

A tutoring concern may reveal a family learning need. Adult education may connect to career preparation. We help people move between services without making them reconstruct their story each time.

Keep learning human

Technology should support relationships, access, practice, organization and progress. It should not replace the judgment, care and accountability people bring to education.

One academy, and more than one kind of learner in it.

Children, adults, families and educators are all in this building. That is the point of it, and it is why no single program describes what Skhillz is.

The connected ecosystem

One academy. Different ways to move forward.

Program availability

Built as one ecosystem. Opened one program at a time.

Skhillz programs do not all open on the same schedule. Some are accepting registrations now. Some are cohort-based, available by inquiry, or building an interest list. Others are still being developed. The Skhillz Virtual Microschool is preparing for its upcoming founding cohort. Current availability, format, location, eligibility and next steps appear on each program page. We will not label a service open before the people, systems, agreements and safeguards required to deliver it are ready.

Where we are strict

No one is assigned to work with a child before the required clearances are complete.

Screening, training, documentation, supervision and renewal requirements are determined by the role, the delivery setting, the jurisdiction and the level of contact with children, so they are not identical for every person. The Skhillz Success Portal tracks the required records and prevents assignment or continued access when required items are missing, expired or incomplete. Families also receive separate choices for optional recording, portfolio, showcase, promotional media, communications and research permissions. Required service information is not treated as permission for unrelated use.

Questions

Questions people actually ask.

Is Skhillz Academy a school or an education company?

Skhillz Academy is the parent education company for a connected family of schools, services, programs, platforms and learning tools. The Skhillz Virtual Microschool™ is the K–12 school model. Other areas provide academic support, adult education, family learning, college and career pathways, professional learning, workforce solutions, enrichment and educational technology.

Is Skhillz only for children?

No. Skhillz serves children, teenagers, adults, families, educators, schools, organizations and community partners through different programs and services.

Does Skhillz serve people outside Florida?

Yes. Skhillz offers virtual programs designed to serve learners nationally. In-person and hybrid services depend on the program, the location, educator availability and applicable state or local requirements.

Are all Skhillz programs currently open?

No. Programs open on different schedules. Some accept registration now, some are cohort-based or inquiry-based, and some are preparing for launch. Every program page displays its current status and next available action.

Does Skhillz guarantee grades, test scores, admissions, employment or other outcomes?

No. Skhillz commits to responsible instruction, support, communication and evidence. Results depend on a learner's starting point, participation, attendance, effort, program fit and other circumstances outside any one service.

How does Skhillz use technology?

Skhillz uses technology to support access, practice, organization, communication and progress. Technology use varies by program. Some learning spaces are intentionally free of artificial intelligence, and any optional research or promotional use requires the appropriate separate permissions.

How can educators work with Skhillz?

Educators may explore teaching, tutoring, presenter, professional learning, consulting and education workforce opportunities. Each relationship has its own application, review, agreement and responsibilities.

How do I find the right program?

Start with who is learning, what is happening now, and what you want to change. The program finder or the Skhillz team can route you without requiring you to understand the entire organization first.

You do not have to understand the entire Skhillz ecosystem to find the right door.

Tell us who is learning, what is happening now, and what you are trying to change. We will help you identify the program, service or conversation that fits.
