Scheduling, cancellation, late arrival and no-show
What happens when a session is moved, missed or started late. These are the figures our Learning Center enrollment agreement refers to, and they come from the Attendance and Make-Up Policy you accept at enrollment.
- Notice to cancel or move a session
- 4 hoursFor an individual tutoring, advising, assessment or coaching session.
- How long the tutor waits
- 15 minutesAfter that a learner may be marked absent and the session may be forfeited.
- A late start does not move the end
- The session still finishes at the time it was scheduled to finish.
- Late cancellation, no-show, or arriving more than 15 minutes late
- The session is charged and is not eligible for a make-up.
- Make-up sessions in one enrollment period
- 2Unless the program agreement states a shorter period.
- How long a make-up stays available
- 3 weeksOr before the program ends, whichever comes first. Make-ups depend on tutor availability and are not guaranteed at your preferred time.
- Group classes
- A group class runs at its scheduled time whether or not one learner attends, and there is no individual make-up for a missed group session. Where we can, we offer a recording, an assignment, a resource or an office hour instead.
- Illness and emergencies
- We accommodate a documented illness, emergency, bereavement, natural disaster or comparable circumstance where we reasonably can. A particular accommodation cannot be guaranteed when staffing or repeated absence makes it impracticable.
- If the tutor or Skhillz cancels
- We give four hours notice where we practicably can, and offer a rescheduled session, a qualified substitute, an asynchronous equivalent you accept, or a credit. If an emergency prevents notice, you do not forfeit the session.
- If your device or connection fails
- Ordinary trouble with your own device, software, power or internet is treated as an absence, though we make a reasonable accommodation where circumstances permit.
- If ours does
- When a failure on our side or the platform materially prevents the lesson we provide a rescheduled lesson, a recording, an asynchronous assignment with feedback, or a credit where no reasonable substitute is possible.
A published term does not change in place. If a figure here changes, we publish a new version and the old one stays readable, because somebody agreed to it. Questions go to support@skhillzacademy.org or 888-429-5094.
