Skhillz AP
The part of the AP exam nobody lets you practice.
Free response carries most of the marks on most AP exams, and almost nothing on the market will mark yours, because a machine cannot read an essay. Here a person does, against the rubric, and tells you what cost you the point.
Tell me when my course opensWhat it will cost
Not open yet, and not taking payment. We open a course only once we have checked its exam against College Board's current Course and Exam Description. Tell us which course you are taking and we will write to you the day it opens.
The five we open with
Chosen because they are the five most taken courses where the written part decides the grade. Which courses come after these is decided by what people ask for.
- AP English Language and Composition
- AP United States History
- AP Calculus AB
- AP Biology
- AP Psychology
Taking one that is not here? Tell us which and it goes on the list.
Why this and not a question bank
A person reads your writing
Free response carries most of the marks on most AP exams, and almost nowhere lets you practice it properly, because a machine cannot mark an essay. You write yours here and somebody on our team scores it against the rubric and tells you what cost you the point. That is the whole reason this program exists.
Practice that follows your own weak spots
The same engine behind Skhillz SAT and ACT Practice, which works out which skills are costing you marks and keeps putting those in front of you. You are not working through a textbook in order; you are working on what is actually wrong.
No invented score
We never show you a predicted 1 to 5. College Board scores the exam in May, and nothing anybody sells you can predict that number honestly. You get readiness instead: not yet, close, or on track, per unit, and the work that moves it.
How you use it
Start where the course is hard
Take the practice for a unit and it tells you which parts of that unit are not holding up, in the course's own units rather than a made-up list of topics.
Write the free response
Write the question types your exam actually asks, timed if you want. Hand it in and it goes into the queue for a person to score.
Read what cost you the point
You get the score per rubric criterion, and the reason for each one, in words about what you wrote rather than a general tip about essays.
Sit a full practice exam
Multiple choice and free response in one sitting, under the real timing, so May is not the first time you have done the whole thing in one go.
What it will cost
You buy the course you are taking, not a subscription to every AP exam in the catalog. Taking three or more, the all-courses plan is cheaper than buying them one at a time.
One course, one year
$199
One payment, 12 months, through to next year's exam. It does not renew.
One course, monthly
$59 / month
Renews monthly, cancel any time. For starting in the spring with the exam already close.
Every course, one year
$499
One payment, 12 months, every AP course we offer. Worth it from three courses up.
Nothing is for sale at these prices yet.
They are published here so you can plan. No AP course opens until we have checked its exam, and we would rather tell you the price now and the date when we have it than take a payment for something that is not finished.

Questions
Can I buy this now?
Not yet. We open a course only after we have checked its exam against College Board's current Course and Exam Description, and we are working through those now. Tell us which course you want and we will write to you the day it opens. Nothing is charged and there is nothing to cancel.
Who scores the free response?
A person on the Skhillz team, against a rubric we wrote from the published criteria. A draft score is prepared first to make the scorer faster, and a person confirms or changes every one before a student sees it. No student is ever shown a score that nobody read.
Is this the same as your SAT and ACT practice?
It runs on the same engine, so the practice and the dashboard work the way SAT and ACT Practice do. The content is entirely separate, and so is what you buy: an SAT plan does not open AP, and an AP course does not open the SAT.
Do I have to buy every course?
No, and that is the main difference from how most people sell this. You buy the course you are taking. If you are taking three or more, the all-courses plan costs less than buying them one at a time.
Are these College Board's real questions?
No, and nobody may sell you those. Every question and every free-response prompt here is written by us. The shape of an exam is a matter of fact and we follow it; College Board's own questions and wording are theirs.
What if my course is not on the list?
Tell us which one. The five listed above are where we start, and which courses come next is decided by what people ask for.
