The big idea

Curiosity is where learning begins.

Children are natural investigators. They ask why, imagine possibilities, take things apart, build things back differently, and turn ordinary objects into extraordinary ideas.

The Curious Little Engineers™ Discovery Club gives that curiosity somewhere to grow.

Each month, members receive a new themed Discovery Adventure designed to help them explore a question, investigate a real-world idea, or solve an age-appropriate challenge. One month they may design a playground, explore weather, or test a simple machine. Another month they may investigate animals, build a structure, create an invention, or develop a solution for their community.

Children do more than watch. They participate.

Read It. Color It. Build It. Explain It.

Meet the Curious Little Engineers

Different strengths. One team.

Three guides lead every adventure, and between them they cover the three ways a child usually gets started: imagining it, making it, or asking about it.

Destiny, David and Kwame at a workbench: Destiny sketching in a notebook, David holding a bridge blueprint above a model he has built, and Kwame looking through a magnifying glass.
  • Destiny

    The Creator

Destiny loves to imagine, design, and bring ideas to life. She sees possibilities everywhere.

  • David

    The Builder

David loves a challenge. He builds, tests, and figures out how things work.

  • Kwame

    The Investigator

Kwame asks questions and looks closer. He explores, discovers, and finds answers.

Why STREAME

Learning does not happen in separate boxes.

The real world does not ask children to use only one subject at a time. Scientists read research and explain their findings. Engineers calculate, design, test, and revise. Authors investigate ideas and use technology. Artists solve visual problems. Entrepreneurs combine communication, creativity, technology, and math every day.

That is why the Discovery Club goes beyond STEM and STEAM.

  • Science

    to investigate and understand

  • Technology

    to research, create, and connect

  • Reading

to gather information and build knowledge

  • Engineering

to design, test, improve, and solve

  • Arts

    to imagine, express, and innovate

  • Math

to measure, analyze, calculate, and reason

  • English

to write, speak, present, and explain

Reading gives children access to knowledge. English gives them the ability to communicate and apply that knowledge. By including both, the Discovery Club supports the complete learner, not only the builder or problem-solver, but also the reader, thinker, creator, and communicator.

How a monthly adventure works

One adventure. Seven connected ways to learn.

Every monthly adventure follows a familiar path so children know what to expect while still discovering something new.

  1. 1

    Discover it

Meet the month's question, theme, character, or real-world challenge.

  2. 2

    Read it

Explore a story, short passage, vocabulary activity, or child-friendly explanation connected to the topic.

  3. 3

    Color it and create it

Use art, imagination, and printable activities to develop ideas and make the experience personal.

  4. 4

    Explore it

Observe, investigate, research, or complete a simple experiment to better understand how something works.

  5. 5

    Build it

Complete a hands-on design, engineering, or problem-solving challenge using common household materials or an optional Discovery Box.

  6. 6

    Test it

See what works, notice what does not, make changes, and try again. Children learn that revising an idea is part of discovery.

  7. 7

    Explain it

Write, draw, speak, or, with a parent's permission, upload a project photo and explain what happened, what was learned, and what could be improved.

  8. 8

    Celebrate it

Complete the adventure, unlock a digital badge, and add another achievement to the child's Discovery Journey.

Skhillz Storytime Studio

Some discoveries begin with a question. Others begin with a story.

The Skhillz Storytime Studio is the reading and storytelling home inside The Curious Little Engineers™ Discovery Club.

During recurring early-evening experiences, children can get comfortable, listen to engaging stories, explore new characters and ideas, and enjoy reading as part of a warm, shared experience.

Selected sessions may feature children's authors who introduce their books, read a few special pages, share what inspired the story, and answer age-appropriate questions from young readers. Other sessions may include read-alouds, poetry, cultural stories, Curious Little Engineers character adventures, illustrator visits, creative-writing prompts, or story-connected activities.

Bring your curiosity, your favorite blanket, and your imagination.

Storytime Studio helps children strengthen

  • Listening and comprehension
  • Vocabulary and language development
  • Imagination and creativity
  • Verbal expression
  • Writing and storytelling
  • Cultural awareness
  • Confidence asking and answering questions
  • A positive relationship with books and reading

Families may join selected sessions live. When rights and permissions allow, recordings and related activities may be added to the member portal.

Optional Discovery Boxes

Build with what you have, or let us pack it for you.

Every Discovery Adventure includes a supply list featuring common, affordable materials families can gather at home. A physical kit is never required to participate in the digital membership.

When available, parents may purchase an optional Discovery Box from the Discovery Store.

Discovery Boxes are sold separately and are not included in the $7.99 monthly membership.

A box may contain

  • Project and experiment materials
  • Printed challenge cards
  • Activity sheets
  • Stickers or achievement items
  • Character surprises
  • Specialty pieces that may be harder to find at home
  • Bonus build or extension activities

The Discovery Store is not open yet. When it is, boxes will be listed here with what is in them and what they cost.

Every kind of curious

There is more than one way to be curious.

The Discovery Club is created for children ages 4–11, with flexible opportunities for different ages, interests, and abilities.

Younger learners may complete an adventure with support from a parent, caregiver, older sibling, or educator. Older children can work more independently, complete extension challenges, conduct additional research, improve their designs, and provide more detailed explanations.

Some children connect through building. Others connect through reading, drawing, calculating, experimenting, writing, speaking, or storytelling. The Discovery Club gives children multiple ways to enter the learning experience, use their strengths, and develop new skills.

The goal is not to make every child's project look the same. The goal is to help every child think, create, communicate, and grow.

Families use the club as

  • A family learning activity
  • A homeschool enrichment resource
  • An after-school experience
  • A weekend project
  • A supplemental literacy or STREAME activity
  • An opportunity for siblings to learn together
  • A creative alternative to passive screen time

Parents do not need to be scientists, engineers, or teachers. Each adventure provides clear directions, a supply list, safety notes, suggested questions, and practical guidance for supporting the experience.

Parent reassurance

Built for children. Managed with families in mind.

  • The account is the parent's

Parents control the family account, child profiles, purchases, permissions, and project submissions.

  • No unmoderated chat

Children do not get public chat or private messaging with other children or adults. Any project-sharing feature is moderated, optional, and controlled through parent permission.

  • Visible, not graded

Parents can see what their child has started, completed, earned, and unlocked without turning the club into a high-pressure grading environment.

Questions parents ask

Before you decide.

What is included in the $7.99 monthly membership?

The digital membership includes a new monthly Discovery Adventure, member-portal access, videos, printable activities, hands-on challenges, Storytime Studio experiences, digital achievements, and parent resources. Specific monthly content may vary by adventure.

Is a Discovery Box included?

No. Discovery Boxes are optional physical kits sold separately. Every adventure includes a supply list so families may participate using materials from home.

How many children does one membership cover?

One. A $7.99 membership is for one child, with their own profile, so their adventures, journal, badges and creations stay theirs. Families with more than one child in the club take a membership for each.

Can I cancel, and can I get a refund?

You can cancel at any time, and cancelling stops the next charge. You keep access until the end of the month you have already paid for. Payments already made are not refunded, including partial months, because joining gives you that month's material immediately.

What ages is the club designed for?

The club is designed primarily for children ages 4 to 11. Younger members may need more adult support, while older members can complete extension challenges and work more independently.

Do parents need a teaching or engineering background?

No. Each adventure includes guidance, instructions, questions, and safety information to help adults support the experience.

Is the club only about engineering?

No. Engineering is part of the experience, but the club uses the complete STREAME framework: Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Math, and English.

No. Live Storytime Studio sessions and special events are enhancements to the membership. Core monthly adventures can be completed according to the family's schedule.

Can children communicate with one another?

The portal does not provide unmoderated private messaging. Any community sharing area uses parent-approved submissions and active moderation.

Are books included?

Selected digital story experiences or excerpts may be incorporated into the membership. Printed books and special book-and-build bundles may be purchased separately.
