The Virtual Microschool Teacher provides live, personalized, standards-informed instruction in a small-school setting built around real relationships, strong academic foundations and the STREAME framework. Teachers do more than deliver a lesson on video: they plan, teach, assess, document, communicate, collaborate, and help learners connect what they know across subjects and into the world.
What you would do
- Plan and teach live instruction for the assigned grade band and subjects.
- Keep strong foundational teaching while designing meaningful interdisciplinary connections.
- Use the predict, test, learn, revise, explain again cycle where it fits.
- Read assessment, assignment, attendance and participation evidence.
- Give feedback and keep gradebook, progress and reporting records.
- Take part in planning, meetings, calibration, professional learning and student support.
- Make accessible materials and provide approved accommodations.

What would help
- Experience with virtual schools, microschools, homeschooling, project-based or interdisciplinary teaching.
- Experience supporting varied learner needs and accommodations.
- Curriculum development or assessment experience.
Where the line is: The Virtual Microschool is hiring for its founding cohort, so this is a role you help shape rather than step into. Grade bands, cohort size and the daily timetable are settled with the founding teachers. Expect that to mean more planning and more say than a post in an established program.
Before anybody starts
Direct contact with children. In rooms with children, so the full child-safety screening for this role, location and setting has to be verified before assignment.
Any offer made before screening and onboarding are finished is conditional. It does not authorize work, contact with a learner, a class assignment or access to learner information. A start date is confirmed only after every blocking requirement is complete and somebody else has verified it.

What happens next: A short screening call, then a subject and grade band review, then a thirty minute teaching demonstration with a real task. You are told the outcome either way, with a reason.
