Skhillz Test Preparation Tutors help learners understand tested content, read question types, practice responsible strategy, manage pacing, and use their own performance evidence to decide what to study next. The role asks for more than knowing the test: you have to be able to teach the mathematics, reading, English, writing or science reasoning underneath your approved exam areas.
What you would do
- Deliver diagnostic-informed individual or small-group instruction.
- Teach the approved content areas as well as the structure of the test.
- Read item-level performance and name the pattern.
- Build a practice plan from the evidence and the time actually available.
- Teach pacing, answer evaluation, error analysis and responsible strategy.
- Run timed practice under standardised conditions when assigned.
- Report progress honestly and never guarantee a score.
- Stay current on approved formats, timing, digital tools and official changes.
- Use properly licensed or original preparation materials.
What we need
- Demonstrated mastery of the exam and content areas you select in the application.
- Experience teaching or tutoring secondary learners.
- Able to analyze results and explain a recurring error.
- Strong time management, communication and documentation.
What would help
- A degree in education or a relevant content field.
- A teaching license, or substantial secondary instruction experience.
- Documented prior success teaching the relevant content or exam.
- Experience with digital testing environments and accommodations.
Where the line is: A high score alone does not establish teaching ability. Where a prior score is used as a qualification, the opening states the exam, the threshold, the test date window and how it is verified.
Before anybody starts
Direct contact with children. In rooms with children, so the full child-safety screening for this role, location and setting has to be verified before assignment.
Any offer made before screening and onboarding are finished is conditional. It does not authorize work, contact with a learner, a class assignment or access to learner information. A start date is confirmed only after every blocking requirement is complete and somebody else has verified it.
Apply for this positionA person reads it. Technology organizes the records and tracks what is outstanding; it does not decide.
What happens next: A short screening call, then a subject and grade band review, then a thirty minute teaching demonstration with a real task. You are told the outcome either way, with a reason.
If you need an adjustment to apply or to interview: Write to support@skhillzacademy.org and tell us what you need. Asking does not affect your application.
